I AM LEAVING...

You may have noticed that I have been on a hiatus for the past few weeks. There's a reason behind the sudden "busyness".
I am busy spending time with all my family and friends because...


...I'm leaving my homeland this January and my birthday's in February. It's sad that I will not be able to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends who are here in the Philippines. Therefore, I want to keep the happiness going by creating something that would show appreciation to everyone who has touched me and it's also something that would make me happy while I am away. Give and take mode for this infectious happiness woohoo!

WEIGHTLOSS SUCCESS STORY: Greenpinoy

While I was on my own weightloss journey, a certain friend of mine was also undergoing his and I am very proud of his outcome!!!

IT'S GREENPINOY!!! :D

GREENPINOY'S STORY FROM INTHEZONE.COM.PH:

In March of this year, I have decided to make my life better, to look and feel better by becoming a healthier individual. I got to a point where I was getting sick with illnesses that I shouldn’t even be experiencing at my age, where none of my clothes looked good on me anymore and where I was just plain tired and sluggish 90% of the time. Blech.

So from then, I started going to the gym 4 times a week to lift weights and started doing cardio about 5 times a week. I also modified my diet and general lifestyle. From 235lbs, I am now down to 200lbs and counting. My waistline has gone from 40 inches to 34 inches. On the treadmill, I used to run for just 30 seconds and feel like dying afterwards. Now I can run 5 minutes straight and still have breath to live J Yay me!

It’s an understatement to say that I feel good. I feel GREAT now. I am much healthier and I rarely get unnecessary aches and pains due to being unhealthy. Of course I am not stopping here. I am looking to live a more active life, get back into sports and be alive and healthy for the next 40, 50, heck even 60 years!

That’s why when I heard about the Bull Runner Dream Marathon 2011, I decided to give it a try as I know the training that would come with running a marathon will test my strength, will and determination. I have never done any competitive running in my life. I’ve never joined a running event because I’ve been telling myself I cannot run, because I feel so as well. Even with the weight loss, the last time I was able to run for an hour straight was in 2002. I want to change this. And I will change it.

Today I formally started with the marathon training program provided by Coach James Lafferty. I have received the training program from him a few days back and have been emailing him my questions regarding my current body building program and his marathon program (Yes, I’m OCD like this ).

Basically the first 2 weeks will be an introduction to running, which is quite easy and breezy as it involves mostly walking. So this morning I did a 30 minute walk which I will do again one more time this week. On the weekend I will do a long walk of 45 minutes. I know I should enjoy the lightness of the training now as eventually I will be doing 50 minute runs that will progress to more than 3 hours as I go through the whole program, which I will complete in 22 weeks.

I will be posting pictures and videos of this journey. Join me as I document my training from today until marathon day!

Greenpinoy, you are an inspiration to all of the people who are trying to lose weight. As your friend, I am very proud of you (yeah, my parents are the number one listeners of the pride I feel over your success! haha!) Congratulations for being healthier and for having a more awesome lifestyle! Inspire.

I LOVE PINOY FILMS. This fact is a shock to those who don't know me. Yes, I've been watching them since I was a kid. May it be horror, action (go CESAR MONTANO!), comedy, drama, or romance, I'LL DEFINITELY WATCH IT. I still remember CINEMA ONE used to be "PINOY BLOCKBUSTER CHANNEL". I actually prefer the old Filipino films. Some think it's "baduy" to watch FILIPINO FILMS, especially the 90s selection, but for me, THEY'RE SOOOOO EPIC & ENTERTAINING!  (That's the reason why I chose Jeremiah's "NANGHIHINAYANG" as the song in my music video. It's the song in MARVIN & JOLINA's movie called "LABS KITA... OKEY KA LANG?")


So far, I've been unconsciously making entries regarding this topic through my random cinema one rants in all the social networking sites I've joined and I think they deserve to be compiled in an organized manner--THROUGH MY BLOG!

SAW ANOTHER SET OF BLOGGERS --UNPLANNED ONCE AGAIN! :D

How funny can sudden/unplanned meet-ups get? Honestly, I was surprised. It was just 1 week ago when I suddenly met some of you guys at MOA. Perfect timing all the time! I don't know why this keeps on happening to me. For the past few years of blogging, whenever I'm at a certain place, bloggers always seem to pop out of nowhere. Once again, they're like mushrooms!!! Haha!

This time, it's special. Ayiii tampurorot's gone (in English: kinda like "SULKING's gone"). 1 week ago, someone made tampurorot (someone was sulking) because Jepoy was trying to annoy him that he was able to meet me first and to think that Mr. Tampurorot was one of my first blogger friends and until now, we haven't really met and it's usually just the other bloggers who get to accidentally see me at certain places. How great can the consequences get? We were supposed to go to Serendra but it was raining hard so we decided to go to Greenbelt instead.

Look who I saw at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for the first time!! =p SURPRISE! YAY! (Thank goodness they were there because the barista was so slow in processing my order! I was able to hang out with them for some time and they distracted me from the dissatisfaction I was feeling towards the poor service. Haha!)

Finally!!! 1 week ago, Jepoy was annoying you because we were able to meet (and to think that Jepoy and I have only known each other for almost a year compared to you who knew me longer.) Now's your turn! Gasdude just came from Singapore. We were friends even before he left the Philippines and we didn't even see each other before his departure. After 2 years, YAY! He was here for a short vacation. I think he's in Singapore now. Hurray for the unplanned meeting!!! THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME!

Oh yeah... He called JEPOY up to tease him. Muhahaha!  Get well soon Jepoy! You sounded sick (and you really were or still are...)

You  know the funny part? While I was lining up, I saw someone familiar ONCE AGAIN. It's GLENTOT! YOU AGAIN!?

I was like "WHY ARE YOU HERE!?" Hahaha! I was really confused because I know that he knows GASDUDE but the company that GASDUDE was with wasn't the same as the group that Glen's usually with and well, I didn't know that he didn't know that Gasdude was there! Seriously, I was confused and I'm sure CHIE (who was also lining up with me and was part of Gasdude's "company of the day") got MORE CONFUSED when I asked Glen the question. Chie was like "Why? Is he not supposed to be here?" Confusing. I know. I thought they knew each other! To make this simple: Glen didn't know that Gasdude was there. Glen was there to hang out with his own set of friends. When I visited the Greenies at their table, there was an extra seat and I even asked them "Is Glen gonna sit here?" I was confused that Glen was sitting somewhere else. OKAY. It turned out that Chie and Glen didn't know each other and I really thought that Glen was with the other present bloggers. OKAY CONFUSING. Haha!

Anyway, I literally just dropped by and was glad to surprise Gasdude. Haha! YAYYYY!!! JEPOY, ENVAYYY! :P  Bonus for me that Glen was there too and he accidentally saw me as well! He said he was supposed to be at SM Megamall but they ended up at that place as well. Yay for accidental meetings!!! :D This is really getting funnier! =))

GREENIES, I totally missed you guys. I'm so glad I saw you all once again after a very loooong time! Too bad Greenpinoy was not yet around when I dropped by. See you guys next time!!! Sudden sighting once again! Haha! I totally didn't see this coming. I'm surprised. YAY!

My Cover of "Telephone" by Lady Gaga

This is my own version of Lady Gaga's "Telephone" wherein I recorded the audio last May 2010 and made some video clips to create this whole thing. Along the way, I had to stop because I got lazy-uninspired and there were a lot of events that took place between June-September 2010, making me forget about the whole thing. Since I got inspired once again due to my Orlando Bloom tandem music video and my GLEE parody with my friend, I decided to continue my TELEPHONE project and here it is. Thanks to my cousins because I got motivated to push myself in this vid for the sake of entertaining them. :) Hugs!

Curly Hair Concerns

MY WEIRD HAIR HISTORY!

Curls, curls, curls! They're dangerous! Haha! When I was a child, I had a really perfect straight hair. I was even offered a Rejoice commercial while I was walking at the mall with my mom, but since my school doesn't allow such activities, we declined. I was 7 years old when that happened. I don't know what happened but probably my hair got mad for refusing its opportunity to shine because when I was 8, my hair started to become curly. HAHAHAHA! My mom has a really curly hair so it's not surprising (but why did it only come out after declining the offer? wahahhaha!) Anyway, when I entered highschool, I started rebonding my hair and for 8 years (yep, until college), I went on with the routine since you know how weird the look becomes after the original hair grows again and you have this perfect straight hair after the original part. I didn't want to do that anymore and decided to end the cycle by having my rebonded hair permed so that when the original part of my hair grows, everything's balanced already--I'm completely curly. And oh yeah, curls are no longer discriminated these days.

Hiya apple! I love your curls by the way! I didn't know you were having problems with it... =\ I hope this post helps you out...

I was able to use FINESSE back then too! I also like VO5 Extreme Mousse Curvaceous Curls, so you might want to try that one out too if you're not satisfied with Finesse. 

What I usually do is after taking a bath, I comb my hair using my fingers so that they're not all tangly (I don't use brushes or combs). I towel dry it and add the mousse all throughout my hair right away. I just let my hair dry that way and tadahhhh, neat curls. Hehe. In your case, since your straight hair's growing already, I suggest that when you're putting the mousse, do scrunching motions.

The Day I Saw The Awesome Bloggers

10.10.10 SM Mall of Asia

Everyone's running for Pasig River (there was a running event that was meant for saving the said famous river), and though I want to, I had to pick up some of my cousins at the airport and from there, we went to MOA (Mall of Asia). 

I saw SOOOOO many of my friends, former classmates, and professors--LITERALLY LIKE MUSHROOMS (because they were popping out at places where I happened to have been passing by... Does that mean I can cause fungus to grow wherever I go? LOL. OK corny. Let me be. It's early in the morning and I'm blogging. =p) Actually, that's not surprising because there was a huge event taking place that time at that place (and everyone wanted to be part of it), but it's a huge thing for me since I live so far from the metro and it's rare for me to be able to hang out with my former classmates and friends after we moved to this faraway land last year. Yeah, I'm an elf princess and Legolas brought me here and I have the power to cause fungus growth because hobbits love mushrooms... andddd now I'm weird. Anywayyyy, since I'm blogging right now and most of my readers are bloggers as well, I'd looooooooove to share the fact that I was able to "meet and greet" (wow, celebrities! haha!) some of the most known bloggers in the BLOGOSPHERE! Woot woot! 

EM, I do wear glasses when I'm outside because I literally have a blurred vision. Then remember, we were still talking at around 4:30am that day? Yeahhhh... I woke up around 5:30am and tweeted you again. HAHA! And yay, double blurry vision for me!  :D LOL that you're really shocked that I wear glasses. Don't like contacts. Scurreh. I think it was a sudden meet-up since Xprosaic (John Lloyd) just arrived from his shooting in Davao, so he wants to say sorry to everyone who wasn't able to come. There's always a next time--after shooting IMORTAL. Muhahaha!

Elderly Filipina Abused By A Caregiver

I've seen one video last month which showed another caregiver abusing an elderly via my friend Ross and that was totally heartbreaking. This time, I found a video report via Youtube.com which shows a Filipino elderly (91 years old and has Alzheimer's disease) being abused by a trusted caregiver, a person who has served her for around 11 years.

The family had set up a webcam to be able to check on their grandmother, but when bruises started to show up, they decided to record the scenes captured by this camera. They ended up with a shocking revelation which you are about to see in this video:

I am speechless. I'm thankful that this was discovered right away and that justice has been served. But seriously, I am completely ... Well, words are not enough to describe how I am totally feeling right now. 

I shall pray for the family and the grandmother's health.

REV ABS Workout - My New Best Friend

My new workout buddy is MR. BRETT HOEBEL!

So far, I've worked out with Shaun T (Hip Hop Abs and INSANITY), Chalene Johnson (Turbo Jam), and Jillian Michaels (30-Day Shred).

The reason why I chose this is because I want to focus on toning my muscles more, especially my core. I know that people will tell me that I should try P90X,  but I'm saving that for later as I would like to try this one out first.

REV ABS aims to shed off fat while sculpting the whole body with extra attention to the core. It's much easier than SHAUN T's INSANITY, but you can feel the burn in this workout series. Actually, it's still up to you if you want to make it harder because you will be relying on dumbbells (and of course, you'll be choosing the weight which you can handle.) In the videos, I think they're using a pair of 15 lbs. Well, you can start off with a pair of 5 lbs. until you can handle the weight they're using. If you don't have dumbbells, they have a modified version of the workouts wherein the modifier's using resistance bands or none at all.

The whole program is longer compared to the other workouts I have tried. Usually, it only takes 1 month for one to finish a workout program, but this one will take you 90 days. Now, I might not be able to follow the whole program, but I'll try.

The package comes with a Nutrition Plan that will help in giving you optimal results. It has a 14-day Jump Start Menu and a 90-Day Menu. I tried following the 14-day Jump Start Plan, but due to certain events, I was only able to finish 1 week of it. The result? I lost 5 lbs. within 8 days, but of course I did the diet with the workouts and all. The jump start plan's actually focused on getting more protein into your body. FEATURE OF THE MONTH AWARD: PLUMA NI JEPOY

I must admit, you have been lined up for this feature thing for a long time now, JEPOY. You're actually included in my TOP 5 wherein each had already been assigned to his/her respective month. When you were joking about you hoping to become my featured blogger last time, I was like "OOOOH, if only you knew. Hmmm... Maybe I should forget about giving this dude an award then." HAHAHA just kidding! :P You totally deserve this! :)


WHO IS JEPOY!?!

I have been around the blog world for a long time now and have undergone different blog hosts (so? haha! I just wanted to say that 'cos I'm weird like Jepoy who inserts whatsoevers in his entries haha! This is a nice intro then, right? =p ). I was about to give up blogging (exagggg!!!!!!!!!!! haha!) when I stumbled upon this dude's blog last year. He was just starting back then, but I felt he was going to have many readers in due time. His style was definitely humorous and interesting that it got me going to keep up with blogging (once again: exagggggggggg! hahaha joke lang Jepoy! ;) ). Well, I went on a hiatus for a few months, and when I came back and checked his page--WOAHHHHHHHH! My prediction was right! He was definitely a successful blogger!!! I was sooooo proud of him because I can still remember his first few rants wherein he was saying that he wants to be just like his idols in the blogosphere. Jepoy, look at yourself! LOOK AT YOURSELF!!! You can't? Go get a mirror! NOW NA! Hehe! You're very successful and you're one of the IDOLS now! I'm proud of you. :)

 Jepoy, who just has this natural and infectious energy which inspires and keeps people going, actually makes me go "Okay, I'm definitely feeling awesome now!" upon reading his blog (especially when I'm low in energy or just... weird? LOL! )

Anyway, I'm sure his nose is bleeding right now as his entries are usually in Filipino. Once he starts blogging in English, ohhh for sure, that entry's gonna be SERIOUS--not! Haha! He's one of the funniest people in the blog world and despite his weird and crazy rants, this dude has a pure heart (ayiii!). He also loves to treat people at food places. So if you're hungry, go find Jepoy! Hahhahaha just kiddin'! 

You guys should check his blog out! If you're down, you'll definitely feel better once you're done reading his entries. His craziness is infectious!!! Resident EVIIIILLL! Okay, see? I'm goin' crazy right  now. I'm not my usual formal blogger self. HAHA! THIS IS JEPOY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT! COME ON! Formality is not invited! WOOHOO!
